Katrina Pierson, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Texas’ 33rd House district, announced the opening of the Texas Education Freedom Accounts application window through a series of posts on her social media account.
On February 4, 2026, Pierson posted: “Big news for Texas families! The Texas Education Freedom Accounts application window opens Feb 4 – Mar 17, 2026. This is an important opportunity to expand educational options for your child. #SchoolChoice Learn more here: https://t.co/VoiJU37D1G”.
Shortly after, she posted another message that read: “Shocked? Anyone? https://t.co/MiqwnhdwVq”, also on February 4, 2026.
In a third post on the same day, Pierson expressed appreciation to a local advocacy group: “Thank you, @TxValuesAction, for standing firm for faith, family, and freedom. I’m grateful for your leadership and for the Texans who refuse to back down when it comes to protecting our values and our children. Proud to stand with you. https://t.co/ctqbTTKjyf”.
Pierson was elected following her predecessor Justin Holland in the Texas State House. Her recent statements align with ongoing debates over school choice and educational policy within the state legislature.
