Lance Gooden, U.S. Congressman representing Texas, recently shared a series of posts on his official X account discussing Democratic Party positions and legislative priorities, as well as highlighting his engagement with local constituents.

On September 26, 2025, Gooden commented on shifting attitudes within the Democratic Party regarding former FBI Director James Comey: “Let’s not forget: The same Democrats who are defending James Comey today were the ones attacking him just a few years ago. Roll the tape.”

Later that day, Gooden described a meeting with local leaders in Athens, Texas: “Great to join the Athens Rotary Club this week to share updates from Washington. We discussed the fight to secure our border, extend tax cuts for hardworking families, and keep our government accountable. I’m proud to work every day to deliver results for Texas and protect our”.

On September 27, 2025, Gooden criticized Democratic lawmakers’ approach to government funding negotiations: “Democrats want to shut down the government for their radical agenda, yet Americans overwhelmingly stand with Republicans on:

Law and order
Secure borders
American workers first
Peace through strength

Democrats are completely out of touch with the American people.”

Gooden has consistently won reelection in his district since 2018. In 2024 he defeated Ruth Torres with over 64% of the vote; similar margins were seen in prior races against Tartisha Hill (2022), Carolyn Salter (2020), and Dan Wood (2018). These electoral outcomes underscore his established support among constituents.
