Lance Gooden addresses ICE arrests and national security issues in latest posts

Lance Gooden, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 5th district since 2019, posted a series of statements on March 26, 2026, addressing recent law enforcement actions and national policy debates.

In a post from March 26 at 15:22 UTC, Gooden commented on immigration enforcement in Dallas: “Recent ICE arrests in Dallas:

– Tren de Aragua gang member
– MS-13 gang member
– Illegal involved in a vehicle theft ring

You’re waiting in a long TSA security line because Democrats want to protect these criminals.”

Later that day at 17:07 UTC, he referenced Vice President Kamala Harris’s remarks about voter identification and linked them to his legislative priorities: “Kamala Harris said it herself on voter ID:

‘Of course people have to prove who they are!’

That’s exactly what the SAVE America Act does.

Clear, simple, and flexible options to prove citizenship.”

In another post at 19:59 UTC the same day, Gooden addressed foreign policy concerns regarding Iran: “It’s ironic that Democrats today say the Iranian regime posed ‘no threat’ to the United States.

Just a few years ago, Joe Biden announced on the world stage that Iran posed an ‘ongoing threat.’

This is what happens when you suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Gooden has held his congressional seat since replacing Jeb Hensarling in 2019. He previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019. In recent elections for Texas’s 5th district, Gooden has consistently won by significant margins against various Democratic challengers.
