Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman who has consistently won his general elections since 2018, posted several statements on his Twitter account addressing issues related to ICE enforcement, rhetoric about immigration policy, and internet censorship in Iran.
On January 11, 2026, Gooden wrote: “1: ICE enforces the law. 2: Democrats call them Nazis. 3: Attacks on ICE agents explode 3,200%. 4: Democrats pretend their rhetoric had nothing to do with it.”
On January 12, he commented on events in Iran: “The Ayatollah has pulled the plug on the internet in Iran for one reason: The truth terrifies tyrants. The regime can try to censor the web, but it cannot stop the truth, the protests, or President Trump’s support for FREEDOM in Iran.”
Later that same day, Gooden addressed criticism regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement activities in Minnesota. He stated: “Democrats say they would “like to see the evidence” of ICE arresting criminals. ICE has arrested 1,500+ criminal illegal aliens in Minnesota so far: – Murderers – Pedophiles – Rapists – Gang members There’s your evidence, @TinaSmithMN.”
Gooden’s recent posts reflect ongoing debates within U.S. politics about immigration enforcement and international human rights issues such as freedom of information in authoritarian states.
Lance Gooden has maintained strong electoral support over several election cycles. In the most recent contest of 2024 he defeated Ruth Torres with more than sixty percent of the vote; previous victories include wins over Tartisha Hill (2022), Carolyn Salter (2020), and Dan Wood (2018).
