Lance Gooden, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 5th district since 2019, recently made several posts on his social media account addressing voter ID laws, Democratic Party strategies, and public opinion on Iran’s nuclear program.

On April 11, 2026, Gooden wrote: “The majority of states Kamala Harris won do not require voter ID. When she speaks out against the SAVE America Act, now you know why.”

Two days later, on April 13, he posted about the potential actions of Democrats if they gain a majority: “This is all Democrats will do if they take the majority: Block, impeach, and weaponize the government. Anything to stop President Trump from making America Great Again.”

In another post on April 13, Gooden referenced polling data related to Iran’s nuclear program and former President Donald Trump’s policies: “The American people are clear: they support President Trump’s goals in Iran. 76% want Iran’s nuclear program permanently STOPPED. Under President Trump’s decisive leadership, Iran will NEVER have a nuclear weapon.”

Gooden has served in Congress since replacing Jeb Hensarling in 2019 and previously represented Texas’s 5th District in the state legislature from 2017 to 2019. He has consistently won re-election with more than sixty percent of the vote in general elections held between 2018 and 2024.
