Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 5th district since 2019, has recently taken to social media to express his views on various national issues. Born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1982 and currently residing in Terrell, Gooden graduated from the University of Texas, Austin with both a BA and a BBA. He succeeded Jeb Hensarling in Congress after serving in the Texas House of Representatives.
On June 2, 2025, Gooden criticized the Biden Administration’s immigration policies by stating that “Under the Biden Administration, 99 illegal aliens on the terror watchlist were knowingly released into the U.S.” He attributed the Boulder terror attack to what he described as “Democratic border policies.”
The following day, on June 3, Gooden addressed economic concerns faced by American families due to inflation under President Biden’s administration. He stated that “American families were forced to cut back due to four years of Bidenflation.” Furthermore, he urged Washington to codify budget cuts related to federal spending.
Later that same day, Gooden raised issues concerning Second Amendment rights and banking practices. In his post, he alleged that Citi had infringed upon these rights and called for an investigation into their actions. He asserted that “.@Citi wants you to forget that they infringed on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans.” His call was directed towards @FBIDirectorKash for further examination into what he described as “RAMPANT discrimination.”
Gooden continues his active engagement with policy matters affecting national security, economic stability, and constitutional rights through public platforms.
