Lance Gooden, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 5th district, has recently posted a series of statements on his social media account criticizing Democratic policies and actions related to border security, voting regulations, and the selection process for presidential nominees.
On March 27, 2026, Gooden published a post outlining his views on the Democratic Party’s stance regarding immigration and election procedures. He wrote: “Democrats:
1) Opened the borders
2) Let illegals vote in local elections
3) Want to ban ICE at polling locations
4) Block voter ID
If you don’t notice what Democrats are doing, you’re not paying attention.” (March 27, 2026)
Later that same day, Gooden addressed criticism directed at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents stationed at airports. In his post he stated: “Democrats on ICE at airports: ‘These guys aren’t doing a damn thing.’
Tell that to the ICE agent at JFK who helped save a 1-year-old.
The same people who caused the shutdown chaos are now attacking the ones who stepped up.
Shameful. https://t.co/dvB288qX3L” (March 27, 2026)
On March 28, Gooden commented on the Democratic Party’s approach to selecting its presidential nominee for the 2024 election cycle. He wrote: ‘”No Kings!” says the party that handpicked its 2024 nominee instead of letting voters decide.
Meanwhile, 77 million Americans cast their vote for President Donald J. Trump.’ (March 28, 2026)
Gooden has represented Texas’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Jeb Hensarling in 2019 and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019. He has consistently won re-election with over sixty percent of the vote in each general election since first taking office.
