Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman who has consistently secured re-election since 2018, addressed several issues on his Twitter account on January 7, 2026. His posts focused on criticism of political opponents, support for ICE officers, and allegations regarding the use of disaster relief funds in California.
In a tweet posted at 18:51 UTC, Gooden wrote, “When the left glorifies chaos, violence follows. ICE officers are under attack for doing their jobs. I stand with the brave men and women of ICE! https://t.co/1A6meiRejw”.
Later that day at 21:55 UTC, he encouraged followers to review a report from the House Judiciary Committee by posting, “Read @JudiciaryGOP’s report: https://t.co/jbdPn2KIXe”.
At the same time, Gooden commented on aid distribution following California wildfires. He stated, “California wildfire victims needed housing, food, and rebuilding help. FireAid funded: – Illegal aliens – Voter participation efforts – Political advocacy groups – Podcasts – Consultant fees People belong in jail.”
Gooden’s remarks come after multiple successful election campaigns; he won his most recent race in 2024 against Ruth Torres with over 64% of the vote. Previous victories include defeating Tartisha Hill in 2022 and Carolyn Salter in 2020 by similar margins.
