Lance Gooden, U.S. Representative from Texas, posted a series of statements on his social media account on December 5, 2025, criticizing the Department of Justice and other political figures.

In a post made at 16:59 UTC, Gooden stated: “Joe Biden’s DOJ spent years waging lawfare against political opponents instead of finding the pipe bomber. Let’s be clear: Without President Trump, we NEVER would have learned who the bomber was.”

Later that day, at 18:18 UTC, Gooden addressed Special Counsel Jack Smith’s comments regarding political motivations in legal cases involving former President Trump. He wrote: “Jack Smith says it’s “absolutely ludicrous” to think politics played a role in his cases against Trump. Great. If that’s the case, he should have no problem complying with the Judiciary Committee’s subpoena.”

In another statement at 22:39 UTC on December 5, Gooden commented on remarks by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar about immigration enforcement. He said: “Ilhan Omar claims ICE can’t find illegal aliens from Somalia. All it takes is one tweet to prove her wrong:”

Gooden has been serving as a U.S. Representative since winning election in 2018 and has consistently secured re-election in subsequent cycles. In 2024, he defeated Ruth Torres with over 64% of the vote; previous victories include wins against Tartisha Hill in 2022 and Carolyn Salter in 2020 with similar margins.
