Lance Gooden, U.S. Representative from Texas, has recently posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing foreign influence in U.S. policymaking, tax policy, and benefits for servicemembers and immigrants.

On December 19, 2025, Gooden raised concerns about foreign interference by stating: “The Chinese Communist Party’s covert interference in U.S. policymaking is an existential threat. Our energy policy must be decided by the American people, not CCP front groups. Two days later, on December 21, 2025, Gooden highlighted the potential impact of ongoing tax policies: “Imagine an extra $1K–$2K in your pocket. That could become reality in 2026 thanks to the Trump Tax Cuts. Republicans are delivering for working American families. “

Also on December 21, Gooden commented on public reactions to military compensation and social services for immigrants: “Funny how the same people outraged that President Trump is giving our servicemembers $1,776 had no problem with Democrats giving illegal aliens • Free luxury hotels • Free food • Free healthcare • Free transportation A leftist’s dream: America’s heroes last, illegal aliens”

Gooden has represented his district through several election cycles, having defeated Ruth Torres in the 2024 general election with 64.1% of the vote and similar margins against opponents Tartisha Hill in 2022 (64%), Carolyn Salter in 2020 (62%), and Dan Wood in 2018 (62.3%).
