Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman who has consistently won re-election since 2018, posted a series of tweets on December 22, 2025, highlighting recent developments in immigration enforcement, energy policy, and federal spending.

In a tweet at 13:30 UTC, Gooden cited new figures on deportations and self-deportations under the Trump administration and referenced ongoing border security measures: “- 605,000+ deportations. – 1.9 million+ self-deportations. And with President @realDonaldTrump’s Big Beautiful Bill: $46.5B to finish the wall, thousands more CBP agents, and 10,000 new ICE agents. This is only the beginning!”

Later that day at 15:58 UTC, Gooden criticized President Joe Biden’s approach to energy policy and praised former President Donald Trump for changing course: “Joe Biden begged the narco-terrorist Maduro regime for oil. His administration preferred buying from dictators instead of drilling in Texas. Thanks to President Trump, those days are OVER.”

At 17:53 UTC on the same day, Gooden commented on federal savings attributed to DOGE cuts and called for legislative action: “DOGE has saved $214 BILLION in just 11 months. That’s $1,329.19 in savings per taxpayer. Now Congress must take the next step and codify the @DOGE cuts! https://t.co/FI6JDueDIv”

Gooden has maintained strong electoral support over several election cycles—defeating Ruth Torres in 2024 with over 64% of the vote; Tartisha Hill in 2022 with a similar margin; Carolyn Salter in 2020; and Dan Wood in 2018—all by significant majorities.
