Several lane and road closures are scheduled on Interstate 30 and nearby roads from April 19 through April 25, according to a recent announcement. The closures will affect both daytime and overnight hours as crews conduct bridge work, pavement placement, and other construction activities.

These closures may impact travel times for residents and commuters in Rockwall County. Authorities say the work is necessary to support ongoing infrastructure improvements along this major transportation corridor.

The planned activities include overnight east-to-west and west-to-east U-turn closures at FM 3549 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., with the closure set up only as needed during bridge work. Full northbound and southbound closures at FM 3549 are also expected overnight for similar bridge-related tasks. On I-30 eastbound, the left lane between FM 548 and FM 2642 will be closed overnight for concrete pavement placement, while flagging operations will occur during the day on the eastbound frontage road from Erby Campbell to FM 35 for barrier installation, removals, and pouring of concrete pavement.

From April 20 through April 25, additional daytime U-turn closures at FM 3549 are planned between east-to-west and west-to-east directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., again related to bridge activities. Flagging operations will take place on FM 548 northbound/southbound during daytime hours for embankment work, removals, and bridge activity at Pond Branch. The I-30 eastbound frontage road from FM 3549 to Erby Campbell will see flagging operations as crews unload drainage boxes during daytime hours.

A full westbound freeway closure of I-30 is also scheduled overnight from April 22 through April 25 at FM 3549 so that contractor crews can pour a new bridge deck. Emergency services including EMS, fire departments, and police have coordinated with contractor teams to ensure emergency access remains available throughout all closure periods.
