Rockwall County introduced a new branding design on Mar. 26, created by Billy Quinton of Qball Design, which features the county’s founding year, the Discovery Statue, the Rock Wall, and the phrase “In God We Trust.”
The unveiling of this branding comes at a time when Rockwall County schools are seeing notable demographic changes and challenges among students.
The number of at-risk students in Rockwall County increased by 3.4% during the 2023-24 school year, reaching a total of 7,777 students according to data from the Texas Education Agency (source). During that same period, Rockwall County schools ranked as having the 48th highest total at-risk student enrollment in Texas according to state education officials.
In terms of demographics for the current school year, white students make up the largest ethnic group in Rockwall County schools with 12,123 students or about 51.7% of all enrolled children. Hispanic students are the second largest group with 6,172 individuals representing approximately 26.3% according to figures from the Texas Education Agency.
As community leaders highlight local history and symbols through rebranding efforts like this one, they also face ongoing responsibilities related to supporting a diverse and changing student population.
