The City of Mesquite has accepted a submitted master plan proposal for an industrial business park to be built on more than 280 acres of land with the capacity to support more than 3 million square feet of workspace.

According to the city website, the industrial park will be one of the most comprehensive in Kaufman County. The estimated cost of the project could exceed $200 million, officials say.

Bruce Archer, who is the mayor of Mesquite says the city is ecstatic about the project.

“The City Council is excited about this proposed project," Archer said. "Our vision for this area includes housing, retail and commercial development. Wynne/Jackson’s development team has met our highest expectations for a quality development that will provide jobs for our residents. Mesquite is open for business.”

The project was approved by city officials on June 15. The new project is one of several developments recently planned for Trinity Pointe Mesquite. Other developments include Spradley Farms, Polo Ridge, Heartland Retail Center and Berkshire Estates.
