City of Garland Texas issued the following announcement on Nov. 5
Downtown Garland will welcome the next wave of revitalization with one of the most highly anticipated projects from the 2019 bond program starting construction soon: the redevelopment of the Downtown Square.
Groundbreaking on the construction will take place at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18. Businesses will be open throughout construction, so you can still visit your favorite shops, organizations and restaurants. For updates throughout the construction, visit GarlandTX.gov/DowntownConstruction.
After the groundbreaking ceremony, stay in Downtown to sip, shop and see at Thirsty Third Thursday until 8 p.m. Visit participating locations during their extended business hours and enjoy a complimentary beverage while you shop.
