ANOTHER STELLAR CONFERENCE SEASON
• A&M-Commerce finished Southland Conference play with a record of 9-9.
• The Lions have never had a losing record in conference games under sixth-year coach Jaret von Rosenberg, who has led the Lions to three NCAA Tournament appearances.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THE COWBOYS
• The Lions won both regular season contests over the Cowboys, though both games were decided by two points each and the game in Lake Charles on January 7 went into overtime.
• The two teams are now 8-8 in the all-time series.
• Nine of the last 11 meetings between the two teams have come in Lake Charles.
VON ROSENBERG PICKS UP WIN NO. 100
• With the win over Nicholls last week, coach Jaret von Rosenberg collected career win No. 100.
• He is the sixth coach in program history to achieve that feat.
DEMONIA JOINS RARE COMPANY
• For the third straight season, Demarcus Demonia has earned all-conference honors after being named to second team all-Southland on Friday.
• He is the first three-team all-conference selection in program history under von Rosenberg.
ROBERTS PLAYS HERO ONCE AGAIN
• C.J. Roberts drilled a game-winner at Nicholls at the Colonels, which was the second time he hit a last-second game winner.
• He also hit a layup in the final seconds against Houston Christian.
• He is shooting 89.7 percent at the free throw line this season, which leads the conference.
ROBERTS AND DEMONIA MAKE SC TOP 10
• Roberts' game-winner appeared at No. 9 on last Monday's Sportcenter Top 10 plays, while Demarcus Demonia's game-tying alley oop dunk appeared at No. 3.
• Based on our research, this is the first occurence this season that the same team had two plays featured on the same night.
HISTORIC STRETCH FOR THE LIONS
• On their last road trip of the regular season, the Lions picked up a road wins at the defending conference champion, Nicholls and defending conference tournament champion, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and took the Islanders to overtime in the season finale at home.
NEVER COUNT OUT THESE LIONS
• A&M-Commerce has fought back from 10-point deficits in eight games against Division I opponents this season to either tie the game or make it a one-possession game.
• Of the seven comebacks, they went on to win
four of those games.
