Ten individuals, two relay teams earn all-SLC honors

Ten student-athletes and two relay teams from the Texas A&M University-Commerce track and field teams are named to all-Southland Conferences teams following their performances at the Indoor Conference Championships last month.
 
All-conference distinction is given to the first-, second- and third-place finishers in each championship event final.
 
First team honorees for the Lions include conference champions J.T. Smith (Klein Oak) in the men's 60 meter dash, Delan Edwin (Castries, Saint Lucia) in the men's 200 meter dash, and the women's 4x400 meter relay team of Naomi Ndukwe (Perserville, France), Maia Maury (Noisy-Le-Grand, France), Sofia Khenfar (Lyon, France), and Mariana Shostak (Lviv, Ukraine).
 
The second team honorees are the men's 4x400 meter relay team of Eddie Barrientes (Chisholm Trail), Conner Stockerl (The Woodlands), Philip Krenek (Kostelní Strimelice, Czech Republic), and Edwin, as well as Micky Ferdinand (Micoud, Saint Lucia) in the men's high jump and heptathlon, and Trayveon Franklin (Montgomery) in the men's triple jump.
 
Ibrahim Fusieni (Accra, Ghana) received third team all-conference honors in the 60 meter dash as well as Smith in the 200 meter dash, Ferdinand in the men's pole vault, Jenneil Jacobie (Piat Gros Islet, Saint Lucia) in the women's high jump, and Maury in the women's pentathlon.
