34 percent of applicants to Texas A & M University-Commerce were admitted for fall 2018

At Texas A & M University-Commerce, 71 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Commerce enrolled 12,411 students in fall 2018, including 8,270 in undergraduate and 4,141 in graduate programs, data shows. 15.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

98 percent of undergraduates are residents of Texas, and 2 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (44 percent) and Black or African American (22 percent).

The school admitted 34 percent of the 10,063 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 35 percent enrolled.
