There were 996 white students enrolled in Kemp ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Kemp ISD schools welcomed 1,835 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 54.3% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Kemp ISD roughly covers schools within Kaufman County and has a main office in Kemp.

Among the five schools in Kemp ISD schools, Kemp High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 299 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
