There were 1,835 students enrolled in Kemp ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 8.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54.1% of them were boys, and 45.9% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 54.3% of the Kemp ISD total enrollment.

Kemp ISD roughly covers schools within Kaufman County with its main office in Kemp.

Among the five schools in Kemp ISD, Kemp High School recorded the highest enrollment of 543 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
