There were 35 Pacific Islander students enrolled in Forney ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 45.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Forney ISD schools welcomed 16,211 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Forney ISD roughly covers schools within Kaufman County and has a main office in Forney.

Among the 17 schools in Forney ISD schools, Jackson Middle School recorded the highest enrollment of Pacific Islander students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of six students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
